ABOUT SUTTON BUILT

Ben Sutton and his team at Sutton Built managed a complete renovation of our three bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in Woollahra, NSW in 2019. The original 1970’s apartment had good bones but needed a complete overhaul so bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms and living areas were stripped back to the brickwork and new cabinetry, plumbing, electricals and joinery were required.

A significant challenge was remediation work for some areas of spalling which needed to be addressed in conjunction with other body corporate works. Ben’s solution was endorsed by the body corporate’s engineers and proved to be a quicker and more cost effective solution than originally considered.

The new look apartment exceeded our expectations once Ben and the team had worked their magic. The project was delivered on time and on budget. It is everything we hoped it would be and we can’t thank Ben enough for the work and the many kindnesses to us over the course of the project. Our thanks also extend to the terrific trades team Ben assembled. The tiler, cabinetry team, electricians, plumbers and painters were all first rate professionals who treated us, and our neighbours, with respect and consideration.

It’s not only us that appreciated Sutton Built’s approach to the project. At the Body Corporate Christmas party several neighbours, including the Chair, made a point of commenting on how good Ben had been in his various dealings with them.

Bob and I have no hesitation in recommending Ben and Sutton Built to future clients. He is a class act in every respect.

We’ve used Sutton Built twice for tricky refurbishments in Art Deco spaces. Ben and the crew took charge of the project, helping to adjust a number of details for us that saved significant time and costs.

We have had the pleasure of working with Ben over the course of several stages of our home renovation.

Ben was there from day one and part of the collaborative vision to transform a dated and daggy house into something our family would love to live in. He did everything from internal demo and reconstruction to exterior decks and gates, to fine carpentry, with great professionalism and enthusiasm.

Ben’s passion for timber and carpentry came to the fore when he completed our beautiful 100 sqm deck and a meticulously detailed blackbutt kitchen island. Both of which became central  to the overall success of our renovation.

When he wasn’t on the tools he skilfully project managed our bathroom renovation, coordinating multiple trades.

One of the great things about working with Ben is his appreciation for design and desire to get the detail just right. He takes great pride in his work and always delivers a top notch result.

As well as being a masterful builder, he is also a supreme athlete, proud dad and all round excellent human to be around. We have no hesitation in recommending him for your next project.
